MMKM are appointed to provide a full architectural service, RIBA 0-7, from planning to construction, and develop this unusual property in the heart of a prominent Chelsea Conservation Area. The two adjoining single aspect buildings, after being vacant for many years, and historically being used for light industrial activity, provide both opportunities and constraints.

After successfully gaining relevant planning permissions the development looks to overhaul the internal building fabric, provide a new external terrace space and 3 new bedrooms for family use.

Due to the property’s unique history, the first floor benefits from multiple large sash windows. The decision was made to create a large multifunctional first floor area, which will benefit from access to the external terrace and sit adjacent to the new kitchen and dining spaces. This then frees up the partially subterranean ground floor for bedroom accommodation.

Location: Chelsea, London
