MMKM were approached by the clients of this Blackheath property following multiple refused planning applications to redesign a contemporary loft conversion space. The new space at loft level is to be a master bedroom haven for the couple who have recently extended their family. The open bedroom and ensuite spaces are linked with dressing room joinery all fitting snuggly within the dormer envelope, which has been carefully developed so as not to overbear the host building. A small hidden roof-terrace, which is not visible from the adjoining neighbours’ properties or the street frontage, provides views out and over the woodland beyond the garden.

MMKM carefully selected materials to complement the existing roofline and added window opening reflecting the first floor windows inline with planning guidance. The feature wrap-over glazed window at the top of the staircase ensures light floods down over you and you have a continuous view up and out as you ascend to the loft level.
